Verse of the Day

I want to please God... | Print |  E-mail

"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer."  Ps. 19:14

God, I want to please you. Not just my actions but even what I think.  Renew my mind so I can dwell on things that are pleasing. Teach me to think like you, to love what you love. To hate what is evil and cling to what is good.

Teach me to dwell on things that are pure and holy.  Things that are trustworthy and true.  Things that are excellent and praiseworthy.

Help me to train my mind to think about you and your goodness. To rehearse your attributes and remember your mighty deeds.

And, God, would you teach me to take control of my tongue. Teach me to keep my meaningless opinions to myself, and to consider how my words might affect other people.

Show me when to speak and teach me what to say. And, when I should keep my mouth shut, convince me that is the way to go.

Train me to speak blessings, not curses, for I know that my tongue has great power and I can choose to spread either life or death.  Either love or hate. I can fuel either hope or despair.  I choose to use my tongue as a tool rather than as a weapon.

You are my God and there is none other.  I am your child, set apart, consecrated, and committed to you.  Be glorified in all I say, do, and think.  I am yours.

I Have A Question

Would You Pray With Me?
